How does divorce effect young children? Divorce is a very devastating thing to happen to the family. A startling statistic about divorce from Hilda Rodriguez and Chandler Arnold, �The census Bureau estimates that half of all marriages occurring since 1970 end in divorce, with the majority of these divorced persons remarrying� Often times, a parent does not take into consideration what the children are going through as a result of their parent�s failed marriage. Most parents do not think the child could possibly be affected by the divorce on the same level the parents have been affected. The truth is, children are strongly adversely affected by their parents breaking up. In fact, most children will go through some sort of emotional change during the whole process.
