1. Comment on Boeing’s overall product development strategy
Boeing wanted for its Sonic Cruiser to be something that market has never seen before. This innovation had supposed to be new not only in Boeing’s, but new on the world’s sky. Their strategy was based on temptation to develop a jet which is capable of transporting 225 passengers at close to the speed of sound, as something necessarily for today’s modern and fast world. Design was also something they wanted to be proud on, so it was planed to be sophisticated, modern, and different from previous.
The Boeing strategy is at some points unclear to understand because even they weren’t sure which plane to build. They wanted that to be Sonic Cruiser which was obviously unsalable, but they were also ready to offer much conventional plane promising better developing solutions, and bigger sale.
