Introduction: Decided to choose as my topic �How Caffeine affects the heart rate� I felt that this topic was relevant because: I am an athlete and I can relate to this experiment. It should be very interesting to see the out-come of this experiment because I, as an athlete will the be able to see whether caffeine is good for me to take at my level of fitness and if it will have an effect on my race performance or training! Coffee was first discovered over 1000 years ago, and currently approximately 75% of South Africans drink coffee on a regular basis. Despite the thousand years that have passed, there is still a debate about the biological effects of coffee and its active ingredient, caffeine. Caffeine is the most widely used stimulant drug in the world, usually consumed by coffee, tea, soft-drinks, and chocolate. Caffeine is also used by triathletes and other athletes as a performance aid. The purpose of this experiment is to discuss and prove what caffeine does to an athlete! Hypothysis: My educated guess to my question......
