Psychology is the study of the mind and behavior. Psychology is derived from the Greek word �psyche�, meaning mind or soul and logos, meaning word (Discovering Collection 2). Scientists who study psychology are called psychologists. Psychologists focus on the individual person, either alone or in relation to other people and that person�s environment (Grolier). Psychology is an interdisciplinary science (Encyclopedia Britannica). Many different areas of psychology exist such as clinical, counseling, school, industrial-organization, developmental, social, experimental, physiological, cognitive, abnormal, vocational, business, and animal psychology. Thus, different types of qualifications must be met to enter one of these fields. Psychology has a history that leads back to the late 1800�s that has contributed to the modern-day job that is used to study the working of the human mind and the study of the effects on this behavior. Psychologists follow different schools of thought such as structuralism, functionalism, pragmatism, associationism, behaviorism, cognitism, and psychodynamics......
