The ‘lone gunman theory’, a popular theory in the assassination of John F Kennedy, as well as the conclusion the Warren’s Commission reached, has been highly disputed over the years. Provoking much controversy, it is inconsistent with evidence and witness accounts making it an implausible theory. The Warren Report concluded that President Kennedy was murdered by a single gunman, Lee Harvey Oswald, using a Mannlicher-Carcano rifle. Three shots were fired by Oswald and two of these bullets hit President Kennedy, where one of them was the fatal shot. With this conclusion, came the notorious “magic bullet” theory – developed to support the ‘lone gunman theory’ and at the same time ridiculed the Warren’s Commission. The “magic bullet” was the single bullet that claimed to have caused the wounds on Kennedy and Conally (who sat in front of the president in the car). The ‘magic bullet’ would have been fired from the back right of Kennedy, taken several turns then hitting Conally in the back right as well.
