African American women have been portrayed as sexual objects and deviants throughout American history. Historically, they were put on display by white men as entertainment for guests. Inevitably African American women suffered rape, incest, molestation and sexual subjection by both Caucasian and African American men. Today African American women are still subjectifed in a negative manner. They are still treated negatively by African American especially in the Hip Hop culture. Blame cannot be placed on men in entirety however; African American women are also at blame.
