Depression is a serious illness that interferes in people�s daily lives. Men and women, young and old, rich and the poor are all affected; depression can happen to anyone. Most of all young adults diagnosed with one of the depression disorders (Dysthymia, Major depression, and seasonal depression) suffer with emotional and physical damage. Their interests and efforts in families, friends, and school become not as important as before. Depression is the most common psychological problem in the country. There are more than 17 million Americans who are diagnosed with depression (Wolf 6.) Teens who are depressed are not able to come out of the sadness they are feeling. The sorrow may have been caused by a major event like a death of a family member or a close friend. Depression is typically overlooked in teens because people would just look at their moods as usual teenage emotions (Myers 19).
