The identity of the company that took over the other company�s assets and liabilities remains the same, whereas the acquired company no longer exists. Mergers are just one form of acquisitions. I this paper I will assess the impact of mergers and acquisitions on businesses while identifying both sensible and dubious reasons for (mergers and acquisitions) , their benefits and costs of cash and stock transactions. Lastly, I will examine the financial risks of merging with or acquiring an organization in another country and how those risks could be alleviated. Mergers and other forms of acquisitions are implemented anticipating an increase in company finances. A transaction of this nature is only justified when the companies involved are worth more together then they are individually.
