Do you think legalizing drugs would be a good idea? Gore Vidal does. In Vidal�s essay, �Drugs,� he argues that it would be realistic to legalize drugs. After reading Vidal�s essay, �Drugs,� he believes that legalization of illicit drugs would be beneficial because it would help with addiction, money/trafficking, and crimes. Vidal assumes, in his essay, �Drug,� that if labels were on illegal drugs, it would be to the U.S. advantage because people would know exactly what they were getting into; therefore, the imagery would be specific, and it would then be up to the individual to choose whether or not if, he or she wants to be involved with such. Vidal believes legalizing drugs would help with addiction by labeling, selling, and using drugs (Vidal 454). Vidal also mentions selling drugs as a suggestion, he says, �Simply make all drugs available and sell them at cost� (Vidal 454). In making this proposal, Vidal believes that, the chances of people becoming hooked on drugs would minimize to some the degree that, people would know exactly what they were getting into from the beginni......
