Introduction The concept of yield to maturity can be confusion to those that do not understand it thoroughly. Identification of Terminology Bond Bonds are a low risk investment, when compared to stocks. A bond is a promise to repay the principle along with interest (coupons) on a specified date (maturity) (Bond, n.d.). There are some bonds do not pay interest, but all bonds require a repayment of principal. The usual issuing price of a bond is $1000.
