We tried all the excuses in the book to escape the inevitable and horrible fear of the boogie monster that comes out of the closet at night and feeds on sleeping children. �I�m not tired yet!� �My favorite TV show is on!� �Why aren�t you going to sleep?� We might have not realized this before, but sleep is one of the most important functions in our lives. According to the Harvard Health Department, �Sleep is one of those funny things about being human- you just have to do it.� As we grew older we come to this realization: we like to sleep. However, because there is so much stress in our lives to achieve what we need, we cannot acquire the desired amount of sleep every single day. But, without enough rest, we experience sleep deprivation. Sleep deprivation is extremely common among teenagers today and contains many negative outcomes that affect our daily lives extensively.
