The Re-Education of Hamlet Life is full of difficulties, sometimes when one wants to go up the ladder one need to be motivated enough to get there, the same can also occur for going down the ladder. Motivation is the key to start of life and the end of life, one needs motivation to continue on in the journey. In Shakespeare’s Hamlet, in the beginning Hamlet is motivated by the player’s Hecuba speech to gain revenge, he later on questions what his actions would contribute to, his motivation changes from revenge to his ability to leave a legacy. Hamlet is continuously motivated by many characters to formulate a plan to gain revenge on Claudius who is the murderer of his dead father. Hamlet questions himself about his own motives and what they could contribute to. However, later on in the play, his motivation changes because he wishes to obtain something greater than only revenge on Claudius. In the beginning, Hamlet is motivated by the player to take revenge.
