Fairness of Life-To Kill a Mocking Bird & A Tree Grows in Brooklyn Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
Is life fair? Many people hear the phrase “Life isn’t fair.” This phrase is the theme that some people interpret from the two novels: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and To Kill a Mocking Bird. These novels intertwine with similarities, along with differences, of the unfairness of life like segregation/racism/discrimination, poverty, and life events.
Segregation, the act of keeping an ethnic, racial, or gender groups separate; racism, animosity toward other races; and discrimination, treating people differently through prejudice, occur in both books with frequency. The novel, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, has similar example to the one I chose from To Kill a Mocking Bird. My example in A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is about Francie Nolan being a friendless child, who is eager to attend school. A teacher’s favorite pupil has been sent outside to clap the erasers.
