He was just some guy who was born in Calamba like all the other children from Laguna. Disobedient as every kid is, Jose Rizal got lots of scolding from his mother. He was also teased and laughed at by his friends, as well as getting into petty fights in school just like you and I when we were young. Lastly, he also fell into the trap of love, just like every other teenager with growing hormones. But aside from all those facts about his childhood days, he wasn�t just like any ordinary kid, Jose Rizal was a young boy on the course of becoming a national hero. He excelled in his academics in Calamba, Bi�an, Manila, Madrid, Paris, Heidelberg and Berlin. Pursuing outstanding grades were his aims in studying. He didn�t want to disappoint his parents and family members back in Calamba. He also believed that through education, he could be able to save his country from total domination. Thus, he never settled for second place but he persevered for first place all the time. That�s one of Rizal�s characteristics that I�ve always admire.
