Jean Watson: The Transpersonal Caregiver There have been many nursing theorists throughout the past that have developed theories that are still used in research today. There theories are used as guides for nursing research, and they have helped the growth of nursing as a profession. All the theories encompass important aspects of nursing that have helped drive the nursing profession forward. Integrating the theories allows the nurse to give the patient the best care possible. At the heart of nursing is the idea of caring. Many theorists have developed their theories around the idea of caring. One theorist, Jean Watson, has based her theory around the idea of caring. Jean Watson�s theory of transpersonal caring explores the caring relationship in it entirety.
