Malcolm X Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Malcolm X The title of the movie I watched was Malcolm X, directed by Spike Lee. Released in 1992, it has won 13 Oscars in its lifetime, most due to the great acting of “Malcolm X” (played by Denzel Washington). The major stars of the movie were Denzel Washington and Angela Bassett. This is a movie that does a great job of showing history in great detail. In the movie, Malcolm X is similar to a hero, even though he had his bad times in life. Malcolm X was a famous African American leader in the movie, but everything starts when he was born. When Malcolm was born, his name was Malcolm Little, and his father was a minister. He was killed by the Ku Klux Klan. Malcolm then became involved in a gang, which was anti-white, since his father had been killed (by the KKK) and his mother had gone insane. After running away and going to Boston, Malcolm decides to become a burglar, and gets arrested. While Malcolm was in jail, he was told about the writings of Elijah Muhammad by a fellow inmate, named Baines. Once he is out of jail, Malcolm decides to teach the writings of Muhammad.
