It was an abstruse period of time for the United States of America and their neighboring country, Mexico, between the belligerent years 1846 and 1848. Under various grounds was this battlefield set. Vengeance, ostracism, and greed all played a vital role in leading up to the contention. Though these two modern countries actually support each other today, it is ironic to comprehend that they were ever in a state of strife. War broke out between Mexico and the United States of America in 1846 primarily due to the US� annexation of Texas in 1845, a boundary dispute over the Rio Grande River after US� acceptance of the annexation, and the Mexican President�s refusal to negotiate a US offer for the purchase of California and New Mexico (�The Mexican War, 1846-1848� 1). Even before the war began, there had already been tension between the two countries. It was all in regards to the annexation of Texas in 1845.
