Not all managers are the same and differing management styles over time can be effective in their own way. Some managers will give their employees free rein to do whatever they need to do to get a task completed while other managers will see to it that they are involved in all aspects of a task until completion. Both ways can be effective, but can also be detrimental to the employee as well as the organization that is where successful delegation comes into play. Delegation is defined as the assignment of authority and responsibility to another person, normally from a manager to a subordinate, to carry out specific activities. When an organization has a large number of employees as well as numerous tasks that need to be completed there needs to be good management available to delegate the work load appropriately. Currently where I am employed as an Operations Manager my job is to see to it that all my employees are keeping up with their daily work responsibilities as well as handling new and tasks that need completion.
