Jekyll & Hyde - Duality of Human Nature Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

As a believer of Christ, it is hard to say that I can truly come into agreement with the duality of human nature being able to be both good and evil. For I believe that a person is only capable of being either good or evil. However, I will say that this psychological influence that takes a toll on us (humans) from time to time is just that: psychological or a mindset in which people subject themselves to thinking that they can commit both good and evil acts. I believe the signifying difference between thought and action is this: that one can think evil thoughts even though he or she may act in positive ways. This does not in any way mean that he or she is both good and evil, but capable of doing two things in which I will continue to discuss. At any rate, for this purpose of good and evil, I will endeavor to portray the psychological relevance to the novel of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. After all, people are what they think of themselves to be. The philosopher Rene Descartes said, “I think, therefore I am.” In other words, it is all in the mental faculties......
