As stated on realmovies.com, Felon is based on true events within the notorious California State Prison in Corcoran during the 1990s, where there was allegedly fights organized in the yard, �gladiator style�, where they would place bets and shoot at them for fun. Although the officers were eventually acquitted of charges, the movie gives a little more justice. (Henderson) It starts out with Wade Porter (Stephan Dorff) as your hardworking average Joe, with his own construction business kicking off, a lovely soon to be wife named Laura (Marisol Nichols) and a precious young son named Michael (Vincent Miller). One night when a burglar broke into the family�s home, Wade acted on his natural instinct to protect his love ones and hit the burglar on the head with a bat while the man was running away, leaving him dead. Wade is found guilty and is sentenced for three years after taking a plea bargain his lawyer advices him to take. But on his way to the prison he is drawn into a quarrel whose repercussions cause his sentence to be lengthened and lead to his confinement in a high-security ......
