I have a smoking habit. It is not something that I am proud of, but I feel that it�s the only serious habit I have. I truly believe that everyone has some kind of habit that they would like to kick. Habits range from very serious, such as alcohol abuse, to minor habits, such as nail biting. Each habit stems from certain causes and has certain effects on a person�s life. Below are a few causes and effects of smoking in my life. Growing up, I noticed that everyone in my family smoked cigarettes. Both my mother and father smoked while I was young, and they still smoke today. I have an older sister and step-sister, who both smoke as well. Therefore, I would say that being around cigarettes all my life has caused me to smoke as an adult. Peer pressure in high school has also influenced my smoking. Everyone wants to be accepted and to be considered as one of the cool kids. For example, when I started high school, my step-sister had already been going for two years.
