Child Obesity Is Not Gluttony. �Approximately 30.3 percent of children ages 6 to 11 are overweight and 15.3 percent are obese.�(AOA Fact Sheet) The number of children and adolescents who are overweight and/or obese are now higher than it has ever been before. Children�s weight problems are due to poor dietary habits, parents should not let their child or children eat large quantities of fast foods and junk foods. Children are going to want to eat junk food and candy, it�s in their nature, but as a parent it�s up to you to limit your child or children so they don�t become overweight or obese. Many parents give in to their child and allow them eat what they want because the parent dose not want to deal with the child arguing or throwing a temper tantrum. �A nine year study has found a link between childhood temper tantrums and increased risk of obesity.
