The Educational Structure of College versus High School The structure in high school is very different from in college. High school is mandatory and free, whereas college is a personal choice, and can be expensive. Both are schools that allow one to get ready for the next step in one�s life. From high school, the next step could be work or college. College is where one can find a life-long career. There is a lot of structure in high school. Attendance is expected, or students could be suspended or expelled. The hours to attend school are usually from 8:00 in the morning, until 2:30 in the afternoon. Students go to the same seven or eight classes every day. Between class periods students only have three to five minutes to get to the next class. The students who show up late would possibly get detention. In high school a person would need to raise his or her hand to leave class to go to the bathroom, or to get a drink of water, where in college, students could just walk out. High school students who are in the same grade eat lunch together at one specific time. High sch......
