Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is the most common developmental disorder in the United States and affects between three and ten percent of the population. Many of those affected are not able to concentrate on any one thing for more than 20 seconds; their thoughts change constantly like television channels; they become bored easily with normal activities, and they are unable to finish daily tasks or sit still for long periods of time. Unfortunately, ADHD is commonly misdiagnosed, making it frustrating for sufferers, their families and those around them. While this condition is not curable, there are several different medical and alternative treatment options available to help control these symptoms, as well as a variety of coping strategies.
