Over the years, food marketers have shifted their focus. In the past most of the marketing dollars were directed toward adults since they controlled the cash flow. Recently, however, purchasing patterns have changed. Buying statistics, say that it appears that children now have a significant amount of influence on purchasing habits. Children nag parents into buying product they would not otherwise by, the �Pester Power�. Parents have less fortitude at the end of the day, they have more disposable income, with smaller family sizes, they also feel guilty for spending less quality time with their children or for other reasons they tend to fall prey to food requests made by their children.
