Winter Wonderland It was winter of the year 1995; a fresh, white blanket of glistening snow covered the frozen ground. The cold, stinging wind blew in short gusts and fluffy snowflakes swirled ecstatically through the brisk morning air which created a breathtaking winter wonderland. School had been cancelled and state road trucks were spreading salt and scraping the snow-covered road. Even though I was only 6 years old, this childhood memory will remain in my heart and soul forever. During the next 12 years of growing up, this wonderful day helped me realize that family and friends are essential ingredients for creating the memories that last a lifetime. I loved going outside on a freshly fallen snow day and anticipating the joy and security of my comfy, warm snowsuit. My mom helped me put my fur-lined boots and insulated gloves on my tiny hands and feet. She tied my boots so tight it almost cut the circulation off, but they would not slip off my feet in the frosty snow. Then, she made sure I had zipped and buttoned my snowsuit all the way to my cute, dimpled chin. Last......
