Aggressive Behaviours There are many psychological factors that tend to elicit aggressive behaviour; however there are implications for the control of human aggressive behaviour. Aggression can be defined as any action carried out with the intent of harming another person or object (Berkwitz, 1988). Many theories have been made to why we act aggressively. One is that we are naturally aggressive and have inherited a �killer instinct� (Lorenz 1966). The biology theory initials that part of our brain is able to trigger aggressive behaviour or end it. Aggression has also been recognised as one of the most persistent and frequent responses to frustration (Berkowitz, 1988). Further studies have shown tension also has the ability to instate aggression. The social learning theory does not attribute aggression to an internal mechanism and aggression is initially learned from social behaviour and maintained by other conditions.
