This essay will investigate and research the issue of child poverty and depravation in the UK. An issue can be termed as an important subject of debate encompassing alternative sets of perspectives or, more informally, as a current �hot topic�. Child poverty is one such �hot topic�. This essay will look briefly at how we define poverty, it�s history in the UK, it�s main causes, it�s impact on children and families and the measures being taken to tackle this problem. The issue of child poverty has been widely documented in many sources, from many perspectives, and this essay will look at some of these sources in an attempt to identify the key issues, as child poverty has massive and far reaching implications for anyone concern with early childhood education.
