In the 1820s and 1830s, Jacksonian Democracy was started by the once US President Andrew Jackson and his supporters. Jackson sought to have an equal political policy which became known as the Jacksonian Democracy following the end of the monopoly of the government. Jacksonian Democrats carried the idea that they were guardians of the Constitution. Jacksonian Democrats attempted to protect what they thought was the right way to guard the Constitution, political democracy, individual liberty, and an equality of economic opportunity, but ended in failure almost all of the time. In fact, Jacksonian Democrats proved that they wanted to be the guardians, but did not show it. Jacksonian Democrats did not uphold the constitution as well as they thought they did. Jackson failed to uphold the Supreme Court�s decisions (Doc. G) and forced the Cherokee Indians out of their land.
