Toad is one of the main characters in Toad of Toad Hall. He has many bad qualities, such as boastfulness and rudeness. However, we can feel sympathy for him. Toad is known for being conceited, although this is part of his charm. He wins the audience’s favour as he is a cute, loveable character who makes up for his wrong-doings with good deeds. He is shown in the first scene being looked after by Badger, Rat and Mole. Some would agree with this statement because Toad is always giving compliments and enjoys giving them, an evil character would never give any compliments or enjoy giving compliments. I know this because Toad says “You’re a good friend, Ratty”, complimenting his friend. Toad usually means well as he is warm-hearted, cute and excitable. Sometimes Toad does bad things, although, because he doesn’t think before he acts, he does usually mean to do good. An example of this would be when he says “Hallo, you fellows! This is splendid! Hallo old badger!” Toad is a little hyperactive and boisterous here. However, he means well. Toad is always polite and cha......
