My views and tolerance on sex, violence, and profanity in movies vary in different ranges and considering this is an opinion essay, I will freely state it. The three categories that I have listed are put in the order of material that I do not really find very offensive (violence) to content that I do not have much tolerance for (sex). Violence: I do not really have much of an issue with violence in movies. I think that those who watch it too much may have a stronger tendency to act violent in their own personal life and perhaps may even repeat what they see, but as for me, I don�t think I�m really that affected by it. Profanity: In my opinion, profanity is similar to sex in films�both are unnecessary to the overall message. Profanity is not something that I will typically get offended by unless it is used to make a sexual reference and also, in a demeaning manner directed toward certain things (i.e. God, Christianity, women, etc�). Of course, there is some foul language that is more offensive than others, but I guess I am so accustomed to hearing it in the every day world......
