p.r Puerto Rico is located 1000, miles southeast of Miami, Florida it is the eastern Caribbean with the Atlantic Ocean to the North and East and the Carribean Sea To the South West. Government Puerto Rico is a United States Commonwealth approved by the congress on July 3, 1952. Puerto Rico is part of the United States in 1917. The people there are consider U.S. citizens. Everyone born there are U.S. citizen except they do not vote for the president. Puerto Rico does go by their government. This is because Puerto Rico is a commonwealth which means they are a free state. The Commonwealth head of the government now is Governor Silas M. Calderon. They are appointed by the governor with the consent of the legislature. Puerto Rico�s political party is democratic.
