(A story of growing up money poor, but family rich) I�m not sure when the realization first hit me that I had grown up in a lower income family. Was it after I joined the Navy and was off on my own? Had the suspicions begun creeping in to my thoughts during high school and I just ignored them? I�m not sure if I will ever truly know when I knew the truth, nor do I care. As far as I am concerned I was the richest person in the world because we had a large extended family full of love, and that�s worth more than all the money in the world. I was born in April of 1962 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. My parents had met on a blind date in the late 50�s and were married in February of 1961. They had both grown up in tough conditions in rural West Virginia. My dad�s father passed away when my dad was only 12, so I never knew the man my son is named for, but if he was anything like my father he was a great person. One of three children, two boys and one girl, he was raised by his mother (one of the hardest working people I ever had the honor to meet) and siblings, as well as Aunts......
