Tennis is a mind game. A tennis player must be mentally and physically strong to beat his or her competitor. It is a game of exploiting your opponent�s weaknesses and setting up points to hit a winner. However, most people believe tennis is simply hitting the ball back and forth until one misses. The lines on the court are not just lines. They determine if a ball is in or out or if a serve is long or wide. Strong forehands, backhands, volleys, overheads, and serves can be a player�s deadliest weapons. Unless a person plays doubles or is on a team, tennis is considered an individual sport. After school, we rush to fill our water bottles and change into our tennis clothes. Saint Ursula is landlocked and there is no room for tennis courts. Our home courts, which are along the Ohio River, is a seven minute car ride. I walk to the school parking lot, get into my car and drive to practice. I park by my teammates and we walk to the courts.
