Personal Narrative On November 20th, 2005 my world started to change in ways I didn�t think possible. That was the day I found out I was going to have my first child. Eight months later, on June 19th, my son was born. He was a beautiful, bald, new-born blue-eyed baby, weighing 7pounds, 4.8 ounces and 21 inches long. I had been continuously worried during my pregnancy about how I would successfully raise a child without a stable father and provide all the things, both physical and emotional that a child needs. I was already basically a single mom at this point; my bipolar husband had all but abandoned us even though he was physically there. But in that first instant that I saw my son I momentarily forgot all my fears. This was the beginning of my journey through parenting and real life. One that would take me through a couple of really hard times, coming out on top more mature and with a new determination to advance further in life. It gave me a strength I never knew I had.
