Peter Singer is a controversial Utilitarian philosopher who has written many books and currently teaches at Princeton University. He bases all of his philosophies on the Utilitarian principle: what ever action creates the most happiness for the most people is the correct action. In his books, Singer questions a person�s �quality of life� in order to justify their right to life, but at the same time promotes equality for all species. My argument will be disproving his beliefs that some humans have a lesser life value because all humans possess the right to life. Peter Singer is famous for his animal rights activism and his views that all species are equal. He demands the population change their mindsets to allow animals to be on the same plain as humans. In fact, he prefers that we do not even call them animals, yet he gives no other term to differentiate between humans and other species (using �everything besides humans� seems a tad long). The preferential treatment of one species over another is coined �speciesism,� in likeness to the word racism, Singer underlying point all alon......
