There are many obvious physical characteristics that have been proven to exist between black and white Americans. Extensive academic research shows that many significant cultural differences exist between the two groups as well. These cultural differences are the product of a myriad of variables, some of which will be discussed in this report. However, this does not prove that there are significant biological or genetic differences between blacks and whites. In addition, it certainly does not prove the superiority of either race. Racial prejudices such as these may be the cause for the increasing disadvantage that black Americans face in society today. These attitudes can only be changed by correcting invalid, negative social concepts about the role of the black American in today�s society.
