Does 83,607,000, seem like a big number? That�s the world's total for barrels of petroleum used per day in 2007. For many of you this is a shockingly high number, others may say it looks like a big number but sadly it�s the status quo. For those of you who see things in that perspective, it calculates to around 30,516,555,000 barrels used that year. Shocking as this may be, this is not the first year that we have used this much oil, nor will it be the last. If the world keeps using oil at the rate we are now, in the year 2030 we are projected to use 112,500,000 barrels per day, which would be 41,062,500,000 barrels per year.
