Analyze the ways in which technology, government policy, and economic conditions changed American agriculture in the period 1865-1900. American agriculture underwent many changes through out the late 1800�s to the early 1900�s. Three ways in which agriculture was subjected to change was through government policy, technology, and economic conditions. Government policy played a big role in agriculture by enforcing regulations and imposing new taxes. Some of the regulations included the government controlling overproduction, and telling farmers what to produce. This caused severe poverty for some families, for they were paid very little for the hard work they produced. How can a family live off of such a small profit as this, �Eight cent corn, two cent oats, two cent beef, and no price for butter or eggs.� This is what the policies of overproduction did to the farmers that provide America�s food.
