Ethics are rules of conduct governing a particular class of human actions or a particular group or culture (Stein, 1983, p. 453). These principles are concerned with doing what is right or wrong and limited by personal understanding and criteria. In business, ethics refer to the moral principle and standards that govern behavior in the business world (Bateman and Snell, 2007, p. 151). The responsibility of any organization is to instill beliefs and develop philosophies about what is right in accordance with the welfare and behaviors of the employees. In the Ethical Awareness Inventory (EAI), four prominent categories of ethical philosophy are examined and further determined by a series of questions. The highest scoring ethical viewpoint is then matched to the individual. This inventory provides insight concerning moral decision-making, ways of viewing and approaching various ethical issues, interaction with other ethical styles and is valuable in both the workforce and everyday life.
