Introduction
The purpose of this experiment was to determine what factors of the environment helped or didn’t help the triops grow or survive. Our hypothesis was that the tank that has been not altered will have the longest lifespan for triops. The tank that has coral in it, the triops will have the second longest lifespan. The tank with algae will have the third longest lifespan. The tank with the soil will have the shortest lifespan. The more the salinity of the water the less the triops will grow. The higher the temperature the more weight the triops will gain. The species of triops have been on Earth for over 1 billion years, another interesting fact was that when hatched the triop was extremely sensitive, but as an egg could survive in almost any habitat. A triop egg is so small that the only way to see it is to look under a microscope to see it, but once hatched the triop can grow up to 1 inch long.

The materials used in this experiment are four 1 ½ gallon tanks, two triop kits, temperature probe, light intensity probe, conductivity probe, oxygen probe, pH ......
