The title on the article I chose to analyze is �Women and Girls in the Criminal Justice System�. In this article many questions were proposed and as the research continued just as many were answered. Some of the questions were what are some of the risk factors for these women and girls? What are the patterns of the violence? Last and certainly not least do women who are involved in illegal activities commit violent crimes? These questions were answered and now you can understand why there are so many females incarcerated behind prison walls. According to The National Council in Crime and Delinquency, the number of female offenders in all areas of institutional corrections facilities increased at a dramatic rate. It is important for practitioners and policymakers to develop an understanding of the specific issues and concerns related to female offenders and why these numbers are horribly high.
