We all know that times are tough right now, people are losing their jobs left and right, homes are being foreclosed on, cars are being repossessed and some people cannot afford to feed themselves or their families. But the government is trying to do something to help, or at least try to help by giving the top three auto industries a government bail out. The bailout should help the automakers produce more cars which in turn would keep more people employed, less people would lose their homes, it would be a snowball effect. The automakers say that if the government gives them $25 billion, they would be able to survive until 2010. Some people think that if the big three are given this bailout they would be in a better position to be competitive long term. What some people don't realize is that there are people who work for these companies and if they go under those people loose their jobs. GM alone has 120,000 U.S. employees, and that's not to mention Fords 80,000 or Chryslers 66,000.
