Introduction Johnson and Johnson is a global organization that has been a leader in the health care trade for over 130 years. The innovative products that Johnson and Johnson have helped to bring into its particular niche of the marketplace have assisted in revolutionizing the health care industry. There has been a recent push for a new system to replace the legacy system that has been in place for over 25 years. Although overall there have been successes with the new implementation, there have been many abject failures, as well. This paper will explore some of those failures, analyze what some of the reasons may be and offer lessons learned to assist in smoother operation of the new system in the future. SAP Go-Live Johnson and Johnson decided to go with widely used corporate software, known as SAP, to help with order fulfillment and to assist in the day-to-day activities.
