Today we are faced with a Financial Crisis that has us all worried; and wondering what is going to happen next. Anytime that something goes wrong we are always looking for someone to blame. Some of the blame has been put on the people who can't pay back their loans and mortgages others blame the banks who did not do a thorough enough check on these people and gave them the loans, but some of the blame has to go to the Federal Reserve who job is to make sure something like this doesn't happen. This crisis did not just happen overnight, the Federal Reserve Board's have been reducing short-term rates very low throughout the past few years. Something that was supposed to help everyone in the economy actually ended up hurting it. There can be a case made that short term rates are a major contributor in the whole housing market foreclosures. When the Fed cut short-term rates long term rates usually stay the same or sometimes even increase.
