How does having the No Child Left Behind policy effect our schools? Years ago President Bush decided that he wanted to make a pledge that all of the children in America would and could receive a high quality education so that "no child is left behind." (NCLB) About a year after Bush took office, the NCLB Act was almost unanimously passed by both Democrats and Republicans in Congress. The passing of this piece of legislation has led to a better set of standards and more accountability of our officials, teachers and students in our public schools. This policy is a good thing for our schools because it gives more money to the school districts. It gave the districts and the states more leeway to use the money they received where they needed it most. It also allows the school officials more time teaching our children and less time having to fill out forms explaining how they were going to use the money given to them.
