Aristotle, a wise Greek philosopher once said, "nothing is so unequal as the equal treatment of unequals". This is evident through statistical terms, as women are the largest disadvantaged group in Australian society today. Good morning Ms Carpenter and fellow classmates, today I will be evaluating the woman's status under the law, the mechanisms used for achieving justice for women, and the responsiveness of the legal system. Beneath these headings is the criteria I will be using to base my evaluations on. These are the examples I will be using when evaluating, they include: media articles from the Sydney Morning Herald, a court case relating to discrimination against pregnancy and the Equal Opportunity For Women In The Workplace Agency website. The role of women being nurturers and housewives was accepted across society prior to WWII. A women's future back then would be to marry, have children and dedicate her entire life to providing the needs for her family. However, this is changing today, as an article titled "Housework divide is closing" showed a study that found the gender......
