The lives and religions of Jesus and Mohammed are very similar, not only in their status within their individual religions but in the central beliefs of the religions they represent. Christianity and the Muslim religions are believed by most people to be a religion far away from the beliefs and practices of their own, even though both religions trace their ancestor to Abraham. When comparing the two religions one will see the similarities. Christianity's faith is based on the life and teachings and resurrection of Jesus. Two-thousand years ago in Roman occupied Palestine, Jesus was born. He taught for a few years and then he was crucified by Roman government on the charge of blasphemy. The writings of Jesus' life were written forty to sixty years after his death and are recorded in the New Testament. Jesus is believed to have been born in Bethlehem.
