Good Morning, Vietnam directed by Barry Levinson, is clearly a comedy. However behind the clever humour of Adrian Cronauer (Robbin Williams), there lies some very serious messages. Throughout the film the audience laughs at many scenes, for example in the opening scene when Adrian is introduced to Edward Garlick, when a brawel breaks out in a bar, then Adrian plays happy upbeat songs on the radio, also when Adrian sets up a game of baseball with local vietnamese people, and lastly when he does impressions of Richard Nixon on the radio, show how complex and serious this film can be. In the opening scene Adrian is introduced to garlick. Garlick welcomes Adrian at the airport, and escorts him back to the radio station. Along the way Adrian notices the living conditions of the vietnamese people. This particular scene exposes the horros of war. Examples are seeing people wearing the same clothes because of the poorness, heavily crowded streets due to the over populated area, and nearly everyone is walking because they are unable to afford means of transport, and there simply wouldn't b......
