The movie Superbad exemplifies a quest-narrative because of the funny and sometimes awkward challenges and trials that Seth, Evan, and Fogell face throughout their quest. Some of the challenges that they face extend from betrayal and deception to what true friends are really like. Fosters criteria for a quest-narrative are to have a quester, a place for that quester to go, a stated reason to go to that place, challenges and trials that are faced throughout the quest, and the real reason for going to that place, (Foster) the movie clearly uses all five of these criteria to explain their quest. Throughout the movie, the adventurous three find themselves realizing how college and girls can ruin friendships and how people should not put these two before their friends. In most movies there is one quester, but in Superbad there are three main characters, Seth, Evan, and Fogell who go on the quest together. In this three-way relationship the head "friends" are Seth and Evan, Fogell can be said to be the friend that always tags along and nobody really notices until he or she does someth......
